JLWA has a unique understanding of emergency management and how it relates to our food and agricultural systems. Our team has managed large scale emergency responses to agricultural pests and diseases and food borne contamination. We know what it takes to be prepared, to respond effectively, and recover quickly.
Our services include consultation including compliance audits regarding state and federal laws and regulations as they affect agricultural and food processing systems including the:
- Agricultural Bioterrorism Protection Act of 2002;
- Public Health Security and Bioterrorism Preparedness and Response Act of 2002 (the Bioterrorism Act);
- State/Federal Plant and Animal Quarantine Laws and Regulations;
- Sanitary and Phytosanitary Import and Export Requirements.
JLWA is also uniquely positioned to provide guidance in regards to identification of available government funding applicable to agriculture and emergency management including agro-terrorism.
JLWA can also provide expertise to local, state, and federal government in regards to pest and disease quarantine and eradication programs. Our staff is uniquely qualified to provide consultation to government. We have worked at the highest levels of government during emergencies, have made the tough policy calls, and can provide invaluable guidance in regards to lessons learned. We can also provide expertise in the evaluation of existing eradication or quarantine programs or produce after action reports at the conclusion of an event.
