James Lee Witt, Rodney Slater, General Wesley Clark Participate in Louisiana Disaster Recovery Foundation Event
 WASHINGTON, DC - James Lee Witt, Rodney Slater, and General Wesley Clark were part of the host committee for a fundraiser held by the Louisiana Disaster Recovery Foundation on December 14th. Governor Kathleen Babineaux Blanco was in attendance at the event.
The host committee also included Senator Mary Landrieu, Congressman Charlie Melancon, Congressman Rodney Alexander, Congressman Chris John, Senator Bennett Johnston, Thomas Hale Boggs, Jr., Senator John Breau, Cokie Roberts, Mary Matalin, James Carville, Donna Brazile, The Honorable Lindy Boggs, and the Honorable Esther Coopersmith. The fundraiser was supported by President Bill Clinton.
The funds raised by the event were donated to the Louisiana Disaster Recovery Foundation. The Foundation has been established in order to help provide assistance to our citizens in need through a network of Louisiana charities, non-profit and governmental agencies.
The Foundation will support long-term family restoration and recovery by focusing on education, housing, health care, legal assistance and jobs for Louisiana families whose lives have been altered by Hurricanes Katrina and Rita.
