LUNA TECHNOLOGIES INTERNATIONAL, INC. RETAINS JAMES LEE WITT ASSOCIATES, LLC
KENT, WA -- January 31, 2006 -- Luna Technologies International, Inc. (OTCBB:LTII) announced today that it has retained James Lee Witt Associates, LLC (JLWA) as strategic corporate consultants to increase awareness of and market share for Luna's photoluminescent life-safety products.
Photoluminescent materials are becoming one of the most important new technologies in the post 9/11 age. These materials are extremely durable, flexible as well as cost-effective and are supported by landmark studies from the US National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and the Canadian National Research Council.
In July 2005, New York City became the first major urban center to protect lives by requiring the use of photoluminescent egress systems in all office buildings over 75 feet in height. Currently nearly 2000 buildings are being retro-fitted to include these integral life-saving products. Other jurisdictions, including the State of New Jersey and the State of Connecticut are in the process of passing even more comprehensive legislation.
"Luna is the leading developer and manufacturer of modern high performance photoluminescent products." said James Lee Witt, CEO and Chairman of James Lee Witt Associates, LLC. "They have the broadest and deepest range of products in the market, and they continue to innovate," Witt added.
Witt has over 25 years of disaster management experience culminating in his appointment as Director of the Federal Emergency Management Agency, serving from 1993-2001. Witt was the visionary and architect of national government programs related to emergency preparedness, mitigation, response and recovery. During his time at FEMA, he elevated mitigation and the role that building codes play in building safer and smarter communities. He continues to promote life saving building codes and mitigation.
Luna Technologies CEO Kimberly Landry said, "We consider this agreement a major milestone for our company, because James Lee Witt Associates is undoubtedly the leader in public safety and emergency management consulting. JLWA is uniquely positioned to help us make Lunaplast photoluminescent material the standard in life-safety technology."
