Jack Perry, Jr., Former U.S. Army Emergency Contingency Planner, Joins James Lee Witt Associates
Perry Played a Key Role in New Orleans Recovery Effort
Washington, D.C., June 12, 2006 – James Lee Witt Associates, the public safety and crisis management consulting firm, has announced that Jack Perry has joined its Atlanta team. He will serve as Director of Logistics for JLWA in the firm's New Orleans Field Office, serving as the state public assistance liaison. JLWA provides post-Katrina recovery assistance to the State of Louisiana.
Mr. Perry comes to JLWA after a distinguished 30-year career in the United States Army and United State Marine Corps as an executive officer and helicopter pilot. He has had extensive training and experience with Department of Defense medical response in support of wartime contingencies and domestic military support, including responsibility for developing medical plans for New Orleans following hurricanes Katrina and Rita. This included getting hospitals and emergency medical services running again, and then supervising the return of these functions to the City of New Orleans.
"Jack has a strong background in the homeland security arena with the Northern Command and North American Radar Air Defense Command, as a worst-case scenario planner," said James Lee Witt, Chairman of JLWA. "He also has spearheaded aviation operations, including medical evacuations, during his tenure in the Armed Forces, and recently put all of this experience to excellent use as a recovery operations leader after hurricanes Katrina and Rita."
Mr. Perry served in Korea as a Commander of the U.S. Army's most forward-deployed Air Ambulance Company in direct support of U.S. combat troops. He has also served as Secretary of General Staff at Fort Hood in Texas, and as Operation/Intelligence Officer for its Medical Battalion. Earlier in his career, Mr. Perry was responsible for training officers for qualification as Army medical personnel, and he served as Commander and Aero-Medical Officer for a detachment stationed in Honduras.
A native of Tucson, Arizona, Mr. Perry earned a B.S. in Professional Aeronautics from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and he holds an MBA from Regis University.
