James E. Jones, Jr. Joins James Lee Witt Associates

As Director of Business Continuity Planning

 

Jones to Help Companies and Organizations Avoid Business Interruptions

 

Washington, D.C. – June 29, 2006 – James Lee Witt Associates (JLWA), the public safety and crisis management consulting firm, announced today that James E. Jones has joined the firm.

 

Mr. Jones is an expert in the area of Emergency Planning, Continuity of Operations, Risk Management, Program Evaluation and Analysis. For the past year, he has served as a consultant to James Lee Witt Associates, leading its work on behalf of the National Capital Region (Washington, D.C.) Citizen Emergency Preparedness Campaign and additional projects on behalf of George Mason University, New York University School of Medicine, and the City of Philadelphia.

 

"James has extensive knowledge in the areas of security and vulnerability program evaluation and analysis, and he has contributed to our efforts to help companies and organizations develop business continuity of operations and disaster recovery procedures," said James Lee Witt, CEO of James Lee Witt Associates.

 

Since January 2005, Mr. Jones has assisted the US Virgin Islands government with disaster and WMD response training exercise and development as well as improvement of emergency operations plans for Roy Lester Schneider Hospital and Regional Medical Center Previously at Community Research Associates (CRA), Mr. Jones consulted clients on special events and national special security events, such as the Democratic and Republican National Conventions, the 55th Presidential inauguration, the G 8 Summit, and the National Capital Region exercises.

 

"James has a solid background in providing emergency response analysis for health facilities and government as well as regional coordination and response for pandemic flu outbreak response," said Mr. Witt. "He will be a terrific addition to our team."

 

From 1998-2003, Mr. Jones was the Director of Security for the D.C. Lottery and Charitable Games Control Board, managing all criminal and administrative investigations, emergency response and disaster recover programs. For Omniplex International, he was the Personnel Security Case Manager, managing industrial security clearance investigations for various Federal agencies and the White House. From 1990-1997, Mr. James was a Special Agent for the Virginia Alcoholic Beverage Control Board (ABC Board). While with the ABC James earned numerous commendations associated with narcotic investigations at local, state, and Federal levels throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia. From 2004 to Present, James has run his own consulting firm, specializing in emergency management, security and vulnerability assessments, and disaster recovery planning.

 

Mr. Jones holds a B.S. in Law Enforcement Management from George Mason University and resides in Fairfax, Virginia.
