Hazard Mitigation Planner and Grant Program Administrator

.Patty Sanchez is a seasoned Hazard Mitigation Planner and Grant Program Administrator bringing 6 years of experience in support of her clients. As part of James Lee Witt Associates' (JLWA) current recovery operations in Louisiana, Ms. Sanchez serves as the Grants Administrator Supervisor for a 3-person team.

 

Additionally Ms. Sanchez serves as the Technical Assistant to the Governor's Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness Mitigation Planning Lead helping the State to implement their 14 million dollar Pilot Planning Program throughout the State of Louisiana. She was instrumental in the State of Louisiana completing Hazard Mitigation Plans for all parishes throughout the State, a feat only a few states have currently accomplished.

 

Prior to her current role with JLWA, Ms. Sanchez worked for The Federal Emergency Management Agency as the Hazard Mitigation Planning Lead and Technical Assistant to the State of South Carolina, based out of FEMA's Atlanta Regional office. Ms. Sanchez's responsibilities included mitigation plan review, quality control, conducting Mitigation Strategy Plan Assessments, assisting various Region 4 States with all facets of complying with DMA2000 planning program requirements.

 

Before working with FEMA, Ms. Sanchez worked as a Consultant for The Mitigation Specialists, Incorporated out of Santa Fe, New Mexico. Responsibilities included training in mitigation plan review, quality control, and Project Management training. She was instrumental in the Project Management of the Los Alamos County Fuels Mitigation/ Forest Restoration Project. This project is the largest Forest Fuels Mitigation Project of it kind funded by FEMA.
