In Memoriam: Dallas Jones is Remembered by James Lee Witt and California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger

James Lee Witt today released the following statement regarding the death of Dallas Jones, Senior Public Safety Advisor at JLWA:
"It is with great sadness that I report the passing of our friend and Senior Public Safety Advisor, Dallas Jones.
Dallas, who served 32 years with the Los Angeles County Fire Department, was the immediate former Director of the California Governor's Office of Emergency Services and the current Secretary Treasurer of the California Professional Firefighters. He died Saturday evening after a valiant battle with Lung Cancer.
From the moment he became a firefighter Dallas made it his calling to serve the public and his colleagues, and he continued that effort working with us here at JLWA assisting with numerous projects and programs. His contributions to the fire service, emergency management and to JLWA are unsurpassed. Our thoughts and prayers are with Lily his wife and the entire Jones family at the time of this great loss. He will be missed terribly."
Dallas is survived by his wife Lily, his sons Brian and Michael (both LA County Firefighters) and his daughter Anna Dallas. Information regarding memorial services is pending, but condolences to the family can be sent to Lily Jones c/o JLWA, 980 9th Street, Suite 1780, Sacramento, CA 95814.
