The 2008 summer floods were a series of events that dealt heavy blows to America’s heartland States of Indiana, Illinois, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota and Missouri. After months of heavy rainfall, rivers overflowing, levees failing, and combined damage from tornadoes, these states were in desperate need of relief and recovery. To face the daunting task of recovery, the State of Indiana, among others, contracted with Witt Associates to provide recovery assistance.

Witt Associates is currently assisting the State of Indiana Department of Homeland Security with a skilled team of professionals who contribute technical and professional services to assist and implement the State of Indiana’s responsibilities as a Grantee under Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) grant programs, including the Public Assistance (PA) and Hazard Mitigation Grant Programs (HMGP). Witt Associates is working with the state on Public Assistance, providing coordination, team development, and communication with eligible state, local, and non-profit sub-grantees, maximizing grant awards and reducing the likelihood of problems. Witt Associates utilizes State Public Assistance Coordinators (PACs) and Project Officers (POs) to provide this overarching support.
